📋 Article outline
On the morning of 23 October 2026, a working delegation led by the leadership of SPT Group (Saigon Postel), together with us at CD Restop, surveyed two sites in the Nhơn Trạch area (Đồng Nai). The two sites were Phước An Port and the Nhơn Trạch Textile and Garment Industrial Park, both visited in the same morning. SPT Group owns the Scharge charger brand.
The trip supported joint work on digital transformation and green transformation, and on setting up charging points and rest stops for industrial parks. This was a field survey. We came to see the sites in person and to hear what the leaders of each site had to say.
Below is what we saw at each site, and what is not yet in place at this point.

Why a port and an industrial park
We wrote this in our article Why rest stops must be standardised nationwide: “We do not compete for space on the expressways. We look at places that no plan has yet covered: urban gateways, port clusters, industrial parks and connection points to wards and communes.”
Port clusters and industrial parks are two of the types of places that sentence names. At a port there are tractor-trailer drivers. At an industrial park there are workers taking mid-shift breaks and finishing their shifts. Both groups need a place to rest, eat and use the toilet near where they work.
The digital transformation part lies in how the chargers are operated. Scharge chargers come with the Scharge app and platform released by SPT, so users can find a charger, charge and track the charging session on their phone.
At Phước An Port
Phước An Port lies on the Thị Vải River, in the Nhơn Trạch area. The delegation wore high-visibility vests, carried hard hats bearing the port's name and rode the internal shuttle through the port area.
In the yard, we saw container tractors labelled EV hauling cargo beneath the row of quay cranes. According to Viet Nam News (31 March 2025), Phước An Port uses electric forklifts, tractors and cranes. At this port, we saw electric equipment working right in the yard.

At a port, a charging point and rest stop must answer three questions:
- Where, and at what hours, electric vehicles entering and leaving the port area can charge.
- Where drivers waiting for cargo can rest, eat and wash up.
- How large a charging point the local power supply can support.
Our article What does a good charging point look like? puts available electrical capacity first among seven site-selection factors.

At the Nhơn Trạch Textile and Garment Industrial Park
At the Nhơn Trạch Textile and Garment Industrial Park, the delegation was received by the park's leadership. At an industrial park, the story is not only about vehicles but also about people.
In April 2026, in our project for a welfare product package for workers, we named industrial-park workers as one of the groups that need to be served. They need welfare services on their way to work and at their workplace, not only where they live.
We measure each rest stop against the 5 CÓ standard (five “haves”): clean energy · meals and essential goods · safe digital financial services · community activities · welfare for road users. Scharge chargers are only one part of it.
At an industrial park, a rest stop must also answer three questions:
- How workers travel to work.
- What they need during breaks and after their shift.
- Where to place it so they can reach it by motorbike or on foot.
The two hosts
The leadership of Phước An Port and the leadership of the Nhơn Trạch Textile and Garment Industrial Park gave the delegation a warm welcome. We received a good deal of positive information about possible joint implementation in the coming period.
We thank both hosts for their time and for sharing information.
What is not in place, and what we have not promised
We want to be clear about the limits, because this is where it is easy to read too much into things.
This was a survey trip. Phước An Port and the Nhơn Trạch Textile and Garment Industrial Park hosted the delegation so it could learn about the sites. No document was signed during the trip. There is no timeline, no charger location and no number of charging points yet.
The positive information from the trip needs more time to be reviewed. When there is a next step, we will announce it on this news page. Until then, we make no promises.
What we hope to see
Our message is “Digital transformation meets green transformation — caring for the welfare of Vietnamese workers”.
Near a port or inside an industrial park, that sentence means this. A worker who has just finished a shift stops by. A tractor-trailer driver who has just delivered a container stops by. There, their vehicle gets charged, and there is a clean toilet, a hot meal and someone on duty.
Businesses and infrastructure owners in port clusters and industrial parks who want to install Scharge chargers can read these two pages:
- Partnering to install Scharge charging stations
- Three ways into charging infrastructure: buying chargers, co-investing, or an in-house station
